Single wills

A will that is entirely yours.

Whether you live alone, are separated, widowed or simply want your own arrangements, a single will records your wishes in your own right.

Clear Will Writing is a specialist will-writing service and is not a firm of solicitors.

Start Your Enquiry

Tell us the basics about single wills. We'll contact you to discuss what you need.

No obligation. We'll explain the next step before you decide whether to proceed.

01 / Overview

One person, one set of wishes.

A single will is prepared for one person. It names the executors who will deal with your estate, sets out any specific gifts, and says who should receive whatever remains.

Couples sometimes choose separate single wills rather than mirror wills, particularly where each person wants different arrangements. We will talk through which approach fits.

A will only takes effect if it is signed and witnessed correctly. We explain the signing requirements clearly so the document is completed properly.

What we will discuss

  • Who your executors should be
  • Who you want to benefit
  • Specific gifts and charitable gifts
  • Guardians for any children under 18
  • Who receives the rest of your estate

02 / Who this can suit

Common reasons people get in touch.

Living on your own

You want to decide who inherits and who deals with your affairs, rather than leaving it to default rules.

Separated or divorced

Life changes can mean an earlier will no longer reflects what you want.

Different wishes within a couple

You and your partner want arrangements that do not simply mirror each other.
